• Notes

  Lived in Gaston Co., North Carolina in 1850 and 1860. Research: Merrill Anderson and the Heyl book show Eli's birth year as 1817 and Beeson gives 1823. However, the J.H. Mendenhall family bible gives 2 Sep 1815. 1860 census omits Anne, Laura, and Meek and indicates an infant male. 1870 shows a "Mark", age 5. (Meek?)
