“Actually I met Russell several times, and once, probably in the summer of 1957, I spent an afternoon with him at his home in Jamestown, New York. We sat in his study, but we also toured his rose garden, which was his passionate hobby and for which he was rather famous. Years ago, probably in the early 2000s, I stopped by Jamestown and learned of his death and actually identified his burial stone.”
