  • Notes
    • Mary Lenahan (Midge) Hall
      Sept. 27, 1935 - Jan. 25, 2016
Mary Lenahan (Midge) Hall lost her struggle with a rare blood disease and passed away
Monday, Jan. 25, while sleeping peacefully. She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Leland Hall, in the fall of 2014.
She was born the second daughter of Noel and Mary Lenahan in Honolulu, Hawaii.
She is survived by a sister, Gaye Lenahan of Piedmont, and sons Leland Bradley Hall of Wallace and Clayton Patterson Hall of Lodi, seven grandchildren (April, Meghan, Nathan, Rosalyn, Lindsay, Carl and
Graham) and four great grandchildren (Baden, Leland, Olivia and Cheyenne) as well as
      several nephews and nieces.
Midge was loved by all who knew her, never had a cross word to say about anyone, and will be greatly missed.
She attended schools in the Bay Area, from elementary and high school in Piedmont to
college at UC Berkeley. Midge worked most of her adult life,
including stints as a bank teller, real-estate salesperson and
eligibility case worker for San Joaquin County, all the while pushing her two sons through high school and college.
      Midge's adventurous spirit led
to her being the cornerstone around which was built several successful family businesses
      as well. Midge loved animals,
especially her numerous cats, enjoyed watching and playing golf and was a mean card and game-board player. Midge became an avid fan of the San Francisco Giants in her latter years and was a lifetime fan of the San Francisco 49ers and University of California, Berkeley, football. She also loved to travel with her husband and friends.
A private burial will be held Feb. 9 at Mountain View Cemetery in Oakland at 1:30 p.m. A celebration of her life will be held at a
later date. The family asks that donations be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
