Notes |
- Lived in Blanchester, Ohio. Had eleven children. Lived in Cedarville, Ohio in 1920 and New Burlington, Ohio in 1930. Curtis was in the Children’s Home in Wilmington, admitted 8 October 1896 and discharged at age 16 on 29 June 1904.
Curtis Warren Taylor was an insurance agent. He was an invalid and used a “trailer car” to travel in so as to carry on his business.
Martha Weitthoff says, "I believe all the older sons, Vernon, Eugene, Paul, John?, and Earl were in WWII. Not really sure about John. During the Depression, all the sons except for Maxwell were sent to the Boy's Home in Xenia. They were treated harshly working the young boys from before sunrise until after dark with only 1 meal a day. ...blessed with the meal and roof over their heads, but it affected my father although he never failed to provide for us. He died of esophogeal cancer at the age of 63 (before his 64th birthday), from the effects of the H bomb. 3 Days after they dropped the bomb on Hiroshima, Dad was sent there as a medic to help. He became covered with blisters from the radiation, lost almost all of his hair, was in occupied Japan until he recovered for 3 months before they sent him home. Paul, captured and held by the Germans, weighed about 60 lbs when our forces rescued him." [8, 11]
