BYHALIA – Charlene Burciaga Free, 60, formerly of Tupelo, died Friday, March 12, 2010, at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She was born Feb. 5, 1950, in Warsaw, Ind. She married Isaac Charles Free on April 14, 2007. She was an office employee of the West Fraser Wood Mill Co. and a member of the Collierville First Baptist Church. She loved traveling, the outdoors and spending time with her grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Collierville First Baptist Church with Dr. Chuck Herring officiating. Burial will follow in the Magnolia Cemetery at Collierville. Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-West Chapel of Oakland, Tenn., is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, Isaac Charles Free; four daughters, Sue Ellen Mendoza of Fulton, Mollie Marlene LaBouve of Collierville, Michele Linn Halley of Byhalia and Robin Lou Rowell of Columbia; her stepdaughter, Sandra Marcum of Byhalia; two sons, Joseph Larry Burciaga of Byhalia, and Rodney Allen Burciaga of Chicago; her stepson, Mitchell Free of Collierville; two sisters, Shirley Marlene Smitherman of Wilton, Ala., and Vivian Marie Hochstrasser of Liberty, Ky.; three brothers, Daniel Lee Ellsworth of Ludington, Mich., Everett Gerald Ellsworth and Edward Acie Ellsworth, both of Liberty, Ky.; 11 grandchildren and three stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Wanda Whitten Ellsworth, and a brother, Marlin Chester Ellsworth.
Pallbearers were Kent Rowell, Glenn Halley, Steven LaBouve, Kenny Kolbow, Bubba Mendoza, Jesse Rogers, Larry Burciaga and Rodney Burciaga. Honorary pallbearers were Christian Rowell and Trevor Rowell.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1378 Union Avenue, Memphis, TN, 38104.
