  • Notes
    • Thelma Thomas remembers Fred putting snakes and toads into the teacher's desk at Las Virgines school.

Fred had a hay & grain store on San Fernando Rd. in San Fernando, California during the 1940s.

Fred hauled soil for local farmers and would come home very dirty. His step-granddaughter, Joann, was Fred Mendenhall’s pet. She didn’t care that he was dirty and would climb up in his lap anyway. [11]
