| Notes |
- Called "Mor Far" by the children of Joseph and Agda Worth. His first wife, Maria, and his only son, Algot, both died about the same time. It was very hard on him.
August lived in Göteborg, but he had a brother who had a farm near the coast further north in Sweden. Roy, Blanche and Evelyn visited him as children in 1915. August also had two sisters that never married.
(Lerum fs, Husförhör/House exam. 1873-78)??? indicates he Utflytt/Moved out fr. Lerum t. Göteborg??? in 1874.
RESEARCH NOTES: Family rumor has it that August originally had the last name of Anderson but changed it to Almen.

In 1883 also, Agda Almen was born in Göteborg - it might have been in Annedal 29, too? November 16, 1885 in Masthuggs.
My guess is that August moved there first or at about the same time (jobs). Agda is said to have spent her early years 'on the outskirts of Göteborg'.
In 1893 you might find Maria and her and August's son Algot Almen both died there too - in Annedal 29 parish, Göteborg, church records (Deaths etc) - at/soon after childbirth? Algot couldn' have been born in May, if Maria died in April (as in Don's 1996 OLSSON article) though... Algot born April 29, 1892 Masthuggs.
August Almén, tullvaktmästare: ....in 1906 still listed at Haga Östergata 5. In 1907 at Värmlandsgatan 20 (Oskar Fredrik parish). (According to telephone directories from 1921 on, they didn´t have a phone). August & Beata Almén are still in 1927 living at Värmlandsgatan 20 (Oskar Fredrik fs/p) (Göteborgs adress-& industrikalender, 1927 - the last year). [6, 9]
