- The Caney News, Kansas, 23 Jan 1914, Friday
Lillie B. Bishir, wife of C. P. Bishir and well known to many people here, died at the home of her mother 9 miles southeast of this city on Monday, January 9th. The cause of her death was tuberculosis from which she had suffered for the past two years. About three weeks before her death she became worse and was brought from her home at Centralia, Oklahoma to the home of her mother.
The deceased was Miss Lillie Ward and was born in what is now Washington County, Oklahoma. She was 25 years of age at the time of her death. Much of her life was spent near Caney and many of our people knew her well. The burial was made in Sunnyside cemetery in this city, Rev. Cunningham of the Christian church officiating. The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the bereaved husband.
