    • Hero B. Baldwin and Hazel B. Baldwin are twins, as given by their birth month & year on the 1900 US Census of Canton, McPherson, Kansas.

      Going by the name Harry B. Baldwin, in the New Orleans States newspaper, dated 8 June 1919 p. 27 and 22 June 1919 p. 5, Harry is living at 2013 Milan Street, New Orleans, LA, working as a Marine recruiter (rank: Sergeant) in the office at 617 Common Street. The article states Harry has just accidentally met his brother Grant O. Baldwin for the first time in 10 years; Grant was in New Orleans, having just served actively in WWI in Argonne, Muese, and Champaigne Sectors in France. He was to be stationed at Marine Barracks, Quantico, VA. Grant was a member of the 83rd company, 6th Regiment U.S. Marines. The article also states that “Harry has been a member of the Marines for eight years and has seen service in various parts of the world.”

      In the 1940 Census, Harry is still serving as a Sergeant in the Marines, living with his wife Ruth M., and 7 of their 8 children in military housing at Parris Island, Beaufort, South Carolina.
