- Merrill E Bishir, 89, died at 7:23 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2011 in Marion General Hospital, Marion, Indiana. He was born in Marion, Indiana to the late Edward and Myrtle (Shirley) Bishir. He married Barbara (Vincent) Bishir on May 23, 1952. She survives.
He retired in 1983 from Marion General Motors where he worked as a salvage repairman. Mr. Bishir was a member of the CPC Sympathy Club. He attended West 8th Street Wesleyan Church and loved to fish and garden.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara J. Bishir, Marion; sons, Robert (Terry) Bishir, Citrus Springs, Florida, Myron Bishir, Wabash, David (Beverly) Bishir, Churubusco, Jerry (Cheryl) Bishir, Marion; daughter, Julie (Jim) Weaver, Marion; sister, Willowdean (Frank) Purvis, Marion; sister-in-law, Carolyn Bishir, Marion; 20 grandchildren; numerous great- grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Myrtle Bishir; brothers, Charlie Bishir, Delbert (Phyllis) Bishir, Robert (Catherine) Bishir; sister, Marjorie (Lowell) Worden
Funeral Service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, September 12, 2011 in Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, Indiana with the Rev. Dan Van Cise and the Rev. Ben Gray officiating. Burial will be in Grant Memorial Park, Marion, Indiana.
